Koizumi Yakumo – Kwaidan and the view of a folklorist
Koizumi Yakumo is a writer, especially famous for Kwaidan. Many of his works are based on Japanese ghost stories, folk beliefs and views on nature, indicating that he had the mind of a folklorist as well. He had empathy with Japanese people’s belief in invisible things and respect for nature, which inspired him to write his books. This exhibition sheds light on a number of Yakumo’s works to explore the splendor and richness of Japanese folklore that fascinated him.

NHK Taiga Drama Special Exhibition: Brothers in Arms
This exhibition showcases artifacts and historical materials relating to Toyotomi Hideyoshi and his younger brother, Toyotomi Hidenaga, as well as related historical figures such as Oda Nobunaga, Tokugawa Ieyasu, Todo Takatora, Kuroda Kanbei, Sen no Rikyu, and Kobori Enshu. It reveals the extraordinary life of Hideyoshi and the profile of Hidenaga who supported his brother, together with the period in which they lived. This exhibition is held in conjunction with NHK’s historical drama, Toyotomi Brothers!
